Startup, Innovation & Incubation Cell (SIIC) was set up in August, 2018 under the able guidance of then Director Dr. L. K. Tyagi. Dr. Rama Kant, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, was appointed as Faculty-In-Charge of SIIC. Before this, students were asked to participate in the events like Kalam Entrepreneurship League (KEL) organized by Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow at the department level. Following were the objective(s) of the SIIC:

  • to support all departments in creating state-of-the-art incubation facilities within the institute,
  • to implement innovative ideas by converting them into a product or service that creates value,
  • to give an opportunity to take forward business ideas and convert innovative ideas into entrepreneurship with expert guidance and mentoring,
  • to facilitate industrial networking, technical and business mentoring, infrastructure & facilities and seed funding support.

Dr. Rama Kant in coordination with all the department head(s) spread awareness about the SIIC and related activities in the campus. He has delivered many motivational lectures in all the departments and circulated the snippets of creative and innovative programmes among the students. After he attended FDP on One District One Product Scheme (ODOP) at UP Institute Of Design, Noida in January, 2020, he publicized ODOP scheme in the college. As a result, three proposals had been submitted from which two projects had been selected. In university a total of 157 projects were received by AKTU and after primary screening 14 ideas have been shortlisted from which two ideas were from our college. Two Project ideas selected under ODOP scheme of UP Government were:

  • Utilization of duplex stainless steel in sanitary fittings by Mantra Chaddha, and
  • Multiflow Faucet Fixtures by Pavan

One e-magazine named INNOVATIVA was also published for Startup, Innovation & Incubation Cell (SIIC).
